Our Foundational Herd
Hello everyone! We’re absolutely thrilled to share our journey on the farm! In May 2024, we kicked things off by welcoming two Does and three Doelings, registered 100% New Zealand goats, who are now amazing foundation of our herd. To spice things up, we brought in three older doelings and two bred does in September 2024. Our bred does had twins, bumping our goat herd up to 14. In June 2025 we brought in our herd sire to start the 2025 breeding season. We can hardly contain our excitement for upcoming kidding season. The '26 kidding season was a success! 11 bucklings and 9 doelings arrived between Dec 29 '25 and Jan 10 '26. All healthy and momma raised! You can see them here.
Loretta
Loretta is our 100% New Zealand herd queen. She is very good at her job to maintain order and safety of the herd. You will see her sitting on a downed tree keeping an eye on everyone. Of course, as queen, she is a bit pushy AND must eat first!
Calypso
Calypso is one of Lucy's twins. She is friendly and wants to be hand fed her treats. She is 100% New Zealand Kiko and a very good mother. She gave us a single this year.
Nemesis
Nemesis is sister of Calypso and daughter of Lacy. She gave us twins this year and you can now pet her. For over a year she didn't want anyone around. All things come to those who wait. She is a registered 100% New Zealand doe.
Lulu
Lulu is Lyla's sister and she was friendly on day one. Didn't need to get to know you, just knew we would take care of her. Lulu delivered twin bucklings. She handled the birthing process beautifully, even if it did happen in the wee hours of the night!
Tess
Tess, 100% New Zealand Kiko, has her own personality. Friendly but astute. She is the 'smart' one of the crew and will figure out how to maximize the treats and ensure the other knows she is the brains.
Lacy
Lacy is Loretta's sister and also 100% New Zealand. She is more laid back than her sister but she knows she is royalty. Anyone not in the family that tries to rise to rank, swiftly gets put in their place.,
Jane and Athena
Jane (black doe) is our registered purebred kiko. She is friendly and inquisitive. If you are in the pen with her, plan on getting rubbed against and snuggled. Athena to Jane's right is a registered 100% New Zealand, she likes to have her head scratched and will always come when there are treats.
Maura
Meet our bottle baby who quickly became a beloved member of family. She always greets us with a cheerful "hi," and when the new herd was forming, she preferred our company over theirs, making us feel truly special. Now that she’s grown, she discovered the joys of playing with her new friends, and we couldn’t be happier to see her thriving!
Lyla
Lyla is always inquisitive. Looking out the gate wondering what HER people are doing. On this day, it was shot day for the kids, mommas were standing guard making sure 'granny' brought everyone back!
Goliath
Introducing our 2025 herd sire, Goliath! With impeccable genetics, Hobo descendent, he is an exceptional addition to our farm. Goliath has seamlessly mated with our does, and we eagerly anticipate a significant number of kids arriving in December/January. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new chapter!
